Strine Environments

Nimbera Street House

A 3 bedroom Millennium adjusted to suit the restrictive parameters of the small suburban site necessary to achieve maximum northern orientation for greatest thermal performance. The retired couple wished to substantially reduce their heating and lighting bills and have ample sunny open plan living space for visiting children and grandchildren. It was important to have flowing and same level access to northern and southern garden spaces for summer and winter alfresco dining. The standard living area module was lengthened to fit an additional study and computer space. A curved courtyard wall offers additional privacy from the street.

Featuring our standard highly insulated thermal panels and floor, maximum northern glazing, sliding glass doors and windows for cross ventilation and light, northern pergola for deciduous vines allowing winter sun and summer shade. Solar chimney for summer time heat purging.
